Section 18
<br> which the Commission may punish
If a service provider does not apply the fee determined by the Commission, charges more than the fee determined by the Commission, or imposes an unequal fee contrary to the approved standards, the Commission may fine such service provider up to fifty thousand rupees depending on the amount of the offense.
(2) If the consumer proves that the service provider did not take appropriate action on the complaint given by the consumer, the Commission may fine such service provider up to ten thousand rupees.
(3) If it is proved that a consumer has made a false complaint against the service provider with the intention of causing pain, the commission may fine such consumer up to five thousand rupees, depending on the nature of the complaint.
(4) The punishment imposed by the commission under this section may be appealed to the relevant appellate court.
